Episode 29: The Ballad of Grand Theft Auto
“With the release of the latest GTA episode, Sinan & Joe have lassoed the Digital Cowboys, Alex Shaw and Tony Atkins, onto the show to discuss The Ballad of Gay Tony, the maturity of the Grand Theft Auto series, and how the media continues to point at Rockstar’s epic as the cause of all of humanity’s problems.”

Episode 30: Call of Duty to Whom
“NB: From the off, apologies for slightly poor sound quality, but in particular for background clicking noises – the result of a one-off oversight on Sinan’s part that probably came from recording at 3.30 in the morning. Almost back to normal scheduling! This week’s show – recorded on Sunday 15th November – doesn’t feature Joe unfortunately as he had some personal and family stuff come up moments before recording, but he’ll be back next week. So, home alone Sinan invited GameCritic Brad Gallaway and Play Magazine’s Steve Haske to mull over the issues raised by a certain war-based video game and its controversy. With some focus on Modern Warfare 2, this week the pod panel talk about how games handle controversial topical themes like war, asking whether or not developers do indeed have any responsbility in handling them – and to whom. Next Monday there’ll be a Co-op Mode, and then as long as December doesn’t dump on us like November did it will full speed ahead with BRP through to the end of the year.”

Co-op Mode: (Nov 30)
“Hey look, it’s up on a Monday (if you’re in the US at least). Yes, it’s a Co-op Mode, the BRP crew had to do one with the silly season hitting hard and true in mid-November. And there was so much to talk about that Sinan and Joe had to cut out some Borderlands and Modern Warfare 2 chat (short version: go play them). Instead you’ll find just under 90 minutes of talk on New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Assassin’s Creed 2, Dragon Age and Left 4 Dead 2. NB: Now edited so Joe will come through loud and clear in both channels, rather than just the left.”

The Gamer Scene Assassin’s Creed 2 Review
“Welcome to a TGS Video review show with a twist. Each show we will be interviewing a member of the community to get their take on the latest games. This week it’s Sinan from the Big Red Potion, giving us his thoughts on the much heralded Assassin’s Creed 2. Sit back and enjoy a visual and audio treat!”

Episode 31: Bigger, Redder, More Potion-y
“This week, Joe and Sinan are joined by returning GamerNoders Eddie Inzauto and Christos Reid to talk about 2009’s proliferation of sequels and spin-offs. Are we reaching sequel overkill? Look out for Big Red Potion 2 next fall. (Apologies for the delay peeps, trials and tribulations of gaming’s busiest time – Sinan)”

Episode 32: Sexuality and Self
“Recorded 13th December. This week Sinan and Joe make space at the table for returning guest and head honcho over at GamerCrave, Jared Newman, and GayGamer.net Editor-in-Chief Flynn DeMarco. The pod panel talk about the relationship between sexuality and the video game characters we all play as. All this and two separate mentions of Arrested Development (and just one of Heavy Rain) in this week’s show. Look out for next week’s special!”

Digital Cowboys Episode 136
“Christmas Video Gaming Quiz: To celebrate the holiday season we’ve thrown an inter-podcast quiz on the subject of video games. Tony is quizmaster (and a very strict one) and I’m competing against Chris O Regan from Superhappyfuntimeshow, Ratso Albion of Gamerdork and Sinan Kubba of Big Red Potion. Find out who among us is the king of gaming knowhow.”

Nope, I haven’t actually been that busy with the podcasting, I’ve just kept putting off doing one of these blog posts until it snowballed into the mammoth catch-up post it has now become. It was a really pleasant surprise to be asked on – at the very last of minutes – to the Digital Cowboys Xmas special, but I’m afraid I may have soured it with my dire singing, as you can well hear and see (er) in the above video. It was loads of fun to record though and I didn’t come last, which was at one stage a great worry. Anyway, Merry Xmas and all that – I’ve got to run out and do some even more last-of-minutes type Xmas shopping.
